Confirmed working by johnyma22 in previous post.
You would need to program your NFC ring tag ID onto the system before the door lock would recognise it.
All NFC rings have two tags embedded which will be able to be used with Salto

RE: Google removing NFC unlock feature
@nephiel
Thanks for the update, won't work with any Oreo phone, but will work with any previous to that. -
RE: Still waiting...
@nasdotcom
I've had my Kerv since May and it works well, no complaints. I was holding out for the NFC version as I prefer the slightly slimmer design -

@johnyma22
Thanks John, sorry to hear that you've had issues.
We're all waiting patiently (some less patiently than others) for your big reveal. -
RE: Payment rings and door locks ???
I have a Kerv payment ring and it works in exactly the same way with NFC readers. If the door lock could read your old ring, it will be able to read the payement ring with no issues.
I was enjoying unlocking my phone with my payment ring until Google disabled the feature in Oreo, boo. -
RE: Still waiting...
@catherine
Looks like it has :-(
Shame. -
RE: Google removing NFC unlock feature
@scarabaea
I took delivery of my new Oreo phone yesterday and confirm that trusted devices is Bluetooth only now.
Obviously quite upsetting for NFC ring fans. -
RE: Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+
@ddprincess9
No surprise it doesn't work with Apple. They would want to sell you an iRing at three times the price, then claim that it's new groundbreaking technology invented by them, like, err, contactless charging... -
RE: Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+
Hi,
a quick search listed these specs, there are different storage sizes for the ceramic and titanium.
Yes, you are right, there are two chips per ring, independant of each other.
Obviously the app to program these is NFC Ring Control, although it doesn't get many glowing reviews, so maybe NFC TagWriter is the better option. -
RE: Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+
Hi Kossi,
the S8/S8+ will be able to see any of the NFC rings. You can either register the ring as a 'trusted device' in
settings\security, or download the NFCRing app and use that to unlock your phone. The NFCRings are nothing to do with Android pay and cannot be used to pay for things. There is an NFCRing payment ring in the pipeline, but it's not been released yet. The payment ring can also be used to unlock you phone. -

@didgesteve they have the rings and back end systems in place (aparently) just waiting for something before they release more news
Sure, 'coming soon'.
Forgive my scepticism -

@lg said in NFC Ring with Payment technology:
Which are the banks that can be linked to the ring? How can I link my bank account with the ring?
I suspect the ring will be linked to a Pre-Pay Visa card. Where you put funds onto the ring before it can be used. The source of those funds is up to you, it could be your debit/bank details, or another credit card. Keeping it Pre-Pay resolves a lot of legal issues. Pretty sure that'll be the business model for NFCRing.
@joe-0
I have seen exactly the same process with Kerv. They had a year of ‘not long now’ and ‘just a few weeks away’. Sometimes honesty would be nice. Personally I think the whole NFC chip biz is a complete minefield of legal issues and rights. I’m not surprised that there’s court hold ups. We all know the technology works. But because it’s such a burgeoning expanding market, competition is fierce to grab as much legal IP pie as you can. -

How is the Kerv? I like the different design choices but is it worth £100 or should I just wait for this one for half that?
To be honest, it's a lot of money for what it does. I paid £35 kickstarter price, I wouldn't pay £100 for it, not worth it. I think the shape and design of the NFC ring will be more comfy and les obtrusive than the Kerv.
@geekguy100
Apparently there was issue with the antenna used in the Kerv ring, that is was mighty similar to the NFC version. But it's very possible that the man in China who makes them will sell them to anybody and he thinks he's doing you a favour. There are hints of the court case in the first post in General discussions. 'Our IP and how / when we enforce it' -

@geekguy100 said in Still waiting...:
@didgesteve no problem. Have you pre ordered a ring?
Yes, I was a Kerv kickstarter and then when I heard about the court case in the US I ordered an NFC ring, thinking that NFC would be first. How wrong I was. My Kerv has been on my finger and working perfectly for over two months.

@geekguy100
Thanks for the update. It's good news to think that the waiting is nearly over. But I still have questions about who is tending this forum if it can go so long without any 'official' expanation. It shouldn't be your job to spread the word. -

We're due to start notifying and fulfilling some pre-orders super soon :) Sit tight!
Six months on from 'super soon' now. Any details that you can share with us?

I've heard the Kerv ring is only available in the UK.
NFC have a restraining order out against Kerv

RE: Possible Release!
Here's my reply from support at the end of Febuary
"We're in the final stages of refining production of the payment-enabled NFC Ring (and associated back end systems) at the moment. We're currently aiming to begin dispatch in the next couple of months."
It'll be ready when it's ready

I guess you can thank NFC for that :/
