No Carbon Fiber?!?! What the deuce?!

If you only have the stealth bomber then I believe that should be an automatic change to black from black cf.

What rings did you have on order?[/quote:299pdzug]sorry, was just editing my post to include that! it's a stealth bomber.

oh, right, I just re-read the email:
> 1) Backers that ordered black fiber & black inlay cover will have the choice to replace the black fiber inlay cover with black, white or transparent.
> 5) Stealth bomber rings will be changing back to their original design of black metal with black inlays.
I stopped reading at 1) but 1) is later superseded by 5) in the case of black metal...
ok, thanks, all black is what I wanted originally but couldn't have, so I'm happy!

No worries mate, glad we sorted it out
I'm in agreeance about the all black stealth bomber, should be very cool. And stealthy. -
@mr3rown RE not getting choice from Apple. I believe you guys should have choice, I'm willing to fight for that.

Yep, Lokki beat me to it. -
Ordered a normal titanium with Grey and Black carbon. I guess that means black and white and no survey? Transparent would be nicer than white IMHO. But I guess I can use that as my 'private part' for now.
Sorry if I missed some info but why not just ship the fail-carbon with vouchers for a new cf 2.0 nfc ring in the future? -
@Lokki thanks for resolving the issue RE confusion over stealth bomber.[/quote:3cehxbdq]
Hmm, I suspect your silver carbon fiber may have changed to white because the other inlay was a different colour. The change emails are for when an automatic change would create a ring with two inlays the same, to avoid potential confusion with usage later. The exception is the Stealth Bomber because Stealth.
There are so many changes made that if everyone were to get more emails for individual order re-confirmation it would slow things down even further. -
Normal Size Ring with Titanium Normal Color Metal. Your inlay choices are Black and Silver Carbon Fiber and the Ring Size is US Size: 7.5. Normal Size Ring with Titanium Normal Color Metal. Your inlay choices are Black and Black Carbon Fiber and the Ring Size is US Size: 15.
I only got an email for the size 15 ring. I think I'm right in thinking I should expect 2 emails.
Is there really no chance of a confirmation order email?

So this is a frustration topic but... I am not that frustrated.
The NFC Ring team took a very professionnal decision inline with all of their other decision : ship a complete product with good quality instead of a incomplete product to please the masses. Then additionnally they offered a not even required compensation for people that ordered carbon fiber.
I respect this desision.

Definitely. I seriously doubt that other companies, let alone other kickstarter projects, would have done this. John is a Great Man. :-)
Frustration even from a minority tends to be very loud and obvious, and can worry others who wouldn't have normally been worried. It was an excellent move from that perspective alone. -
So what happens if we had ordered multiple CF insert rings? If somebody could answer my previous post that would great.
John,

I'll hand that one off to John, mate. He's probably asleep now but I'll let him know you need an answer.

@mrjake if you ordered multiple CF rings IE.. B-BF-B, B-BF-T, T-BF-B
We will ship you B-B-B, B-B-T, T-B-(whatever choice you made).. And then you will get a voucher for a free ring..
We did chat about providing multiple free rings internally and with the community and we came to the conclusion that the collection is already an amazing deal (works out at ~£14 per ring compared to retail of ~£30), if we gave 3 free rings it would work out at ~£7 per ring which is just not realistic in this realm of ours..
The same logic applies to all multiple ring orders ie. his/hers.
RE providing Black Fiber later / staggered, we'd rather fulfill your order then you can bump us quoting this forum thread and we can give you a discount on the Fiber ring when it's ready. We just don't want to have loads of oustanding Kickstarter orders, we want to avoid any press/media of "Ships over a year late" for any really awkward to fulfill orders if that makes sense?
Ideally we would have bottomless pockets and infinite production capacities but as we're a startup we have to be mindful not to short-change ourselves. We're still 100% committed to our Kickstarter backers, hopefully we will show this in the next 5 or so days with an announcement we will be making.

John thats totally fair and I understand! Thanks for the quick reply and great support.

Hi John.
Looking above at the posts from mrjake and you. I had also ordered the collection with carbon fiber on all of my rings. I submitted my choices for replacements but also misunderstood and thought I'd get three extra rings (sorry, mistake on my part - I understand that'd be unrealistic).
I really like the carbon fiber design. I would rather wait until the issues have been ironed out and have three carbon fiber rings than have three alternative designs and one carbon fiber ring at a later date.
Would it be possible to hold off on my order until the carbon fiber rings are ready? (Although if you wanted to send a free non-carbon fiber ring as part of the current phase I'd be very grateful).
Thanks for all your hard work and keeping us informed with the updates.
James

Still No Email, so do you think it just have been auto changed to black?
This is entirely possible. I had a quick look back over the posts but couldn't see what you'd ordered.
If it's carbon fiber it'll be changed, if the two inlays are different ie white/black cf then the black cf will automagically change to plain black. Same with black/white cf, the white cf automagically changes to it's base colour.
If you had two similar inlays ie black/black cf or white/white cf then John's team needs a colour choice and will have sent an email.
Stealth Bombers are the exception to the rule and will be changed to black/black for the inlays because Stealth.
