S6 native android unlock doesn't require any swipe..
-
My friend had his phone here last night, setup his ring as a trusted device and when he held his ring to his phone it took him straight past the lock screen! Looks like they updated Android to do this!
Brilliant news!

@johnyma22 What version is that on, dude? I'm getting irritated with the swipe open thing here on the Xperia.

No, idea, will ask my buddy to let me know..

Android 5.1.1 .. Model Number SM-G920F
-
Damn. Must be a quirk of the Samsung - my Z2 Tablet is on 5.1.1 and there's no way that I can find to enable that.
-
I think it's a Samsung thing, as the same thing happens on my test Note 3 running 5.0, no swipe necessary. It is convenient, but seems to be rather spotty as to whether it actually works or not. It's almost as if NFC goes to sleep sometimes or something. Havent quite figured out a pattern as to why it sometimes just doesn't work.

Will be interesting to get more responses on this to see if it's exclusive to Samsung or not. I imagine it's more likely to be exclusive to different minor versions of Android

As far as I know, it applies to Samsung S6 (and likely the edge) as well. Had noted this quite some time back: https://forum.nfcring.com/topic/534/android-lollipop-trusted-device-nfc-ring-perfect/20

Yep I have a nexus 6, with 5.1.1 . As you know nexus has only google code, nothing else and is the first to get any new OS. This doesn't happen for me so it must be a Samsung specific modification.

Note 3 also doesn't require swipe.. So looks like it's Samsung only, TouchWiz modification?
